Centre for Endangered Languages (CFEL)
Centre for Endangered Languages (‘CFEL’ in abbreviation) is an independent research Centre established by Visva-Bharati (vide REG/O-R/89(vi), dated 26.5.2014) through an office order based on the UGC Sanction (F. No. 15-6/2012/CU dated 3rd April 2014) of a major national initiative in nine central universities with Visva-Bharati’s CFEL as the nodal Centre. Prof. Udaya Narayana Singh (Rabindra Bhavana), Visva-Bharati was appointed by the University as the Chairperson of CFEL, V.B. with the responsibility of implementing the UGC’s mandate, and to report to the Upacharya, vide another office order on 26.5.2014. Further, Prof. R. Shivkumar (Kala Bhavana), Prof. Rameshwar Mishra (Hindi Bhavana), Prof. Kailash Pattanaik (Deptt. of Odia), Prof. Manju Rani Singh (Hindi Bhavana) and Prof. Sabita Pradhan (Deptt. of Odia) have served as Chairperson, CFEL. Currently, Prof. Manoranjan Pradhan, Head, Department of Odia is holding this responsibility.
