  • Lecture of Conchúr Ó Giollagáin and Gordon Wells 

    A lecture program was organized by Centre for Endangered Languages, V.B. in collaboration with Department of Odia, Bhasa Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan. Professor Conchúr Ó Giollagáin (Gaelic Research Professor and Director of the UHI Language Sciences Institute and Director of Soillse) from The University of the Highlands and Islands, Scotland delivered a lecture on ‘The Gaelic cultures of Scotland and Ireland’. Another speaker was Mr. Gordon Wells from same University and he delivered a lecture on ‘Island Voices: language capture and curation project, and video ethnography case study’. The both member shared their experiences on linguistic and cultural documentation of Gaelic community. The program was presided over by Prof. Abhijit Sen, Principal Bhasa Bhavana and vote of thanks was given by Prof. Kailash Pattanaik , Head Odia Department and Chairman, CFEL.
